Figging out! Fresh figs and Vanilla Ice Cream drizzled with Balsamic Vinegar

by Cheryl Collett, Itty Bitty Foodies - Yummy Adventures with Kids!

Figs are in season and we are pigging out! While the weather is still gorgeous we’re pairing figs with ol’ fashioned vanilla bean ice cream and drizzling it with aged balsamic vinegar. The tartness of the balsamic goes so well with the creamy ice cream. The particular one I used is a Vanilla Fig Balsamic Vinegar from Flavors from Afar.  Pikelet loves doing a taste test with all the different figs available right now.

On another note, I’m pleased to announce that I’m the new recipe writer for White Rock Lake Weekly! Check out the Fresh Figs and Vanilla Ice Cream Drizzled with Balsamic Vinegar recipe here. The recipe is super easy and extremely delicious, try it with our Lazy Family Weekend Lunch idea.

Till our next Happy Meal!

  1. Hi there Cheryl,

I had salt on my caramel chocolate recently. It was strangely nice! When figs are in season here, I will be trying this out!
